An Era Of Development

Alexander Kutscher, the managing director, highlighted specific contributions. “Of particular note is the development of the Hopferstadt landfill, which is now a secure and valued disposal facility for the association’s area. Here, Mr Schenk was able to apply his geoscientific training particularly well,” Kutscher said. He added that from the mid-1990s, Mr Schenk helped establish the energetic valorisation of commercial waste and, since 2003, the municipal cooperation with partner corporations in Franconia and neighbouring Baden-Württemberg.
Securing Regional Disposal
Tamara Bischof commented on the impact of these cooperations, stating, “With the municipal cooperations, a value has been created that supports and maintains the economic operation of the Würzburg Waste-to-Energy plant (MHKW) and the security of disposal in a region with a population of over 900,000.” She referred to Mr Schenk as “an institution in the Franconian waste management industry.”
