The data was published by the Thermal Waste-to-Energy Association Donautal (TAD). The facility processes waste from a catchment area of approximately 1.2 million people, generating electricity and district heating through combined heat and power.

The measurements show that emissions of dioxins and furans were at 0.0014 nanograms per cubic metre of air, compared to a permitted limit of 0.1 nanograms. Dust emissions were recorded at 0.40 milligrams per cubic metre, which corresponds to 7.9 per cent of the approved limit, according to the plant operator.
Nitrogen oxide levels reached 68.8 milligrams per cubic metre, remaining within the plant’s specific permitted limit of 70 milligrams. Emissions of sulphur dioxide were 0.9 milligrams per cubic metre, or 17.9 per cent of the approved value.
