The KVA Oberwallis in Gamsen is the sole waste-to-energy facility serving the Upper Valais region, operated by the Gemeindeverband für Verkehrs- und Entsorgungsanlagen Oberwallis (GVO), later reorganised as Revo.

This single-line plant handles residual waste from the alpine communities of Canton Valais and generates both electricity and district heat for the local area. The compact installation is well-suited to the specific throughput requirements of the sparsely populated Upper Valais, ensuring environmentally compliant waste disposal far from major urban centres.
