Satom SA operates the Waste-to-Energy plant in Monthey. This plant has treated waste from municipalities in the Valais and Vaud Chablais and Riviera regions since 1976. Besides electricity, the plant supplies the Thermoréseau district heating network. Furthermore, via the 2.5 km Ecotube pipeline opened in 2022, it supplies steam to the CIMO chemical site in Monthey. In 2025 it recovered 166,009 t of waste and generated 98 GWh of electricity. A new line (INOSAT, about CHF 300 million) is planned for 2030–2031.
