Neumann Group Processes 1.5 million Tonnes of Ash A Year
Neumann Group is headquartered in Burg, near Magdeburg, and is among the leading European providers of IBA recycling. It serves operators of Waste-to-Energy plants, which rely on continuous disposal and processing of incineration bottom ash.
Through its integrated platform, Neumann Group processes around 1.5 million tonnes of residual ash annually. As a result, it recovers raw materials and secondary building materials.
Deal Expected to Close in Second Half of 2026
The transaction is expected to complete in the second half of 2026, subject to customary approvals. Alongside Neumann Group chief executive and co-owner André Hartl and the existing management team, Igneo will become the majority shareholder.
Gregor Kurth, partner at Igneo, said the investment follows Igneo’s strategy. This strategy involves partnering with infrastructure companies that provide critical services and can benefit from long-term structural growth trends. He said Neumann Group holds a market-leading position in an attractive and sustainably growing segment. This position is built on long-standing customer relationships, technical expertise and an advanced infrastructure platform.
Kurth added that, building on the foundation established by Heiko Neumann and his family, Igneo looks forward to supporting the company’s next growth phase together with André Hartl and his team. In addition, they will strengthen Neumann Group’s role in advancing the circular economy.
“Neumann Group has become a leading European provider of recycling services in ash processing, serving customers in numerous markets across Europe”, said Neumann CEO André Hartl. “With Igneo, we have a strong partner to drive the next phase of our growth, further strengthen our market position, and expand into new geographic regions.”
