Daniela Enslein and Kristian Kuen have been appointed as new managing directors of Stadtreinigung Hamburg (SRH) since the beginning of the year. Enslein succeeds Rüdiger Siechau as spokesperson for the management.

Kuen will initially be responsible for the human resources department. On 1 August, he will take over from Holger Lange as commercial managing director, who is retiring due to age. Until 31 July, Enslein, Kuen, and Lange will form the company’s management team.

Strategic Focus On Sustainability And Digitalisation

The company states that Enslein and Kuen possess extensive management experience and will contribute their expertise in sustainability, digitalisation, and organisational development. Their appointment was based on the recommendation of a selection committee established by the supervisory board.

Katharina Fegebank, Senator for the Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture and Chairwoman of the srh supervisory board, stated that Stadtreinigung hamburg faces significant challenges, including the transformation to a circular economy, the digitalisation of its processes, and the implementation of Hamburg’s climate goals. “With Daniela Enslein and Kristian Kuen, we have gained two personalities who will approach these tasks with strategic vision and innovative strength,” Fegebank said.

Daniela Enslein, the new SRH managing director, stated: “Stadtreinigung Hamburg is a strong and efficient company. I am very much looking forward to this responsible task and to further developing Stadtreinigung hamburg together with all employees. The coming years will be crucial to advance the circular economy in Hamburg and to continue positioning the company as a strong municipal partner for a sustainable city. My goal is to preserve what has been proven while at the same time breaking new ground for the benefit of the city and its people.”

Kristian Kuen, new SRH managing director, commented on his new role: “Together with the management team, I want to further develop SRH as a digital, economically successful, and attractive employer. It is particularly important to me to make the organisation future-proof and to actively involve the employees in this change process.”
