The KVA Biel, operated by Müve AG (Müllverwertung Biel/Bienne-Seeland), is a compact single-line waste-to-energy plant serving the communities of the Biel-Seeland region in the Canton of Berne.

Since commissioning in 1979, the plant has delivered continuous electricity and district heat to its host municipality whilst managing the region’s non-recyclable waste. A major renovation completed substantially extended the facility’s operational life and improved its energy recovery efficiency.
