PGE Energia Ciepła S.A. is the combined heat and power arm of the state-controlled PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and the largest producer of cogenerated heat in Poland.
Among its 16 CHP plants is Elektrociepłownia Rzeszów, home to the ITPOE waste-to-energy plant (180,000 t/a), which supplies district heat and electricity to the city. A second incineration line was handed over for operation in September 2026, and the Rzeszów site now produces heat without coal.
