The Waste-to-Energy plant (Müllheizkraftwerk, MHKW) Iserlohn in South Westphalia burns the residual waste of the Märkischer Kreis and commercial waste on three grate lines. Operated by AMK, it supplies electricity and district heat to Stadtwerke Iserlohn. The plant dates from 1970 and was comprehensively rebuilt in 1994–1996; a tender launched in 2026 will bring in a new majority partner from 2028.
