Hamburger Rieger GmbH is the German paper-making subsidiary of the Austrian Prinzhorn Group and runs the Spremberg paper mill in the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park, Brandenburg.
Since 2013 the mill has drawn its process steam from an on-site refuse-derived fuel (RDF) power plant permitted for 356,000 t/a, which also exports electricity to the grid.
